Q: I don’t have a Gmail account, can I still join?
A: Because of the platforms our program uses, you do need a Gmail account, but don’t worry we are here to help you set one up! Check out this tutorial for setting up a Gmail account and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Q: I don’t want to run my own business, can I still join?
A: Of course! The great thing about entrepreneurship is that the skills are transferable to everyday life as well as in your future career, no matter what it may be. What you learn in our programs can help you with whatever you choose to do in the future.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Absolutely nothing! This is a free program and all are welcome.
Q: Do I need to know how to do anything first? Do I need to have a business idea before the program starts?
A: Come as you are! We believe you already have all the creativity and energy you need to succeed. You do not need to have an idea for a business to join this program. Girl Boss will help you identify a problem or opportunity to turn into a business. We will provide information about entrepreneurship and digital tools as well as a safe community where you can learn.
Q: I’ll be in school during the program, how much time do I need to spend to be a Girl Boss?
A: Girl Boss is made up of 10 levels. Each level has been designed to be completed in a week and should take you between 4-6 hours to complete all the activities. If you do run into problems, we have two extra weeks at the end of the program where you can continue to work.
Q: I don’t want my child on the internet, is there a paper alternative?
A: Unfortunately, not. Right now, Launch gURLs is only piloting a digital version of Girl Boss. We are aware of internet safety issues for girls, so we built in netiquette and digital safety training for all girls prior to the start of the program. With the world rapidly transitioning online, we don’t want girls to fall behind but we also know they need to learn how to be safe in this new environment.
